I currently did a book chat and i talked about the book a child called it. This book is no doubt a must read! It's a TRUE story about a boy named David who gets abused by his alcoholic mother. David is just a regular human being just like me and you, but his mother didn't see him as part of their family. he was called "the boy". David had three other brothers who did not get abused. talk about unfair and humiliating. His mother was an alcoholic and would always take out her anger of poor little David. some of the most intense parts of this novel was when David's mother made him drink a spoon full of ammonia, which could kill you. She also burnt him purposely on the stove and made him eat his little brother's dirty diaper. talk about ridiculous. i think its even insane she came up with some of these nasty "punishments". This story is just incredible, sickening, sad, breathtaking, and intense all in one. i love this book because it is a true story and it happened to the author, David Pelzer It took him a whole lot of courage to write such a heart warming book about his terrible childhood. I believe that he wanted people to know about his childhood and how horrible child abuse is. All forms of abuse should be STOPPED! In my opinion people who abuse children or even animals for that matter deserve to get a taste of their own medicine! What do you think?
p.s. David Pelzer has two books that follow a Child Called it, called The lost boy, and A Man Named Dave
This is a passionate blog posting! I really like how you engaged your readers at the end. On Friday, we will be commenting on the blogs, so I hope you get some answers.
