What i do to read successfully...
the first thing i do when i read is find a comfortable place, not too comfortable because no matter how interesting the book is i will fall asleep. the second thing i do is make sure where i am reading is completely quiet, or has little to few distractions. it makes it easier to read and understand what i read. the third thing i do is take notes, not long boring notes just little things to remember, like who characters are, what they look like etc. this makes it easier for my brain to understand and remember someone for a test. the fourth thing i do is i try to end on a spot where i can easily pick it up and start reading again, like the end of a chapter. if you stop in the middle of a chapter, in my opinion, i feel like you would get lost and have to reread some of the page to remember whats going on. another thing you could do when you read is mark in your book(only if you own it of course). if you do not own it then use sticky notes or tabs. personally i used to hate reading. i dreaded reading books for class because usually they were not interesting to me at all. but i soon found my solution to help me read. since then it makes me understand and enjoy what i read. now i can sit back relax and actually get some reading done.
This blog post will be really helpful to some of your colleagues. Very specific. Good work, Presley!
