- What would you do if you were Val's mother?
- Would you be crazy and uptight about where Val went and who she talked to, and hung out with?
- What about her dad's "affair"?

my point of view.
In my opinion, the strongest part of the text is the shooting, and weather or not Valerie should be allowed back to school or not. i believe Valerie should be allowed to attend Garvin High again. Even though Val did make the hate list, and she was nicks girlfriend, it does not make he guilty for what nick did. No one knew what was going on in nicks head that day he shot up the school. How was val supposed to know he really wanted to pick off the people one by one from the "hate list"? It is a hard subject for val to talk about. It takes a whole lot of courage to go back to school, Especially when she knows people may never forgive her for creating this horrible list. Valerie's mother is very cautious when it comes to Valerie. she is always asking questions and making sure she isn't going to harm herself or anyone else.

The scene when Val's father tells her he could never forgive her was horrible. I think his character is an important part of the story. Why do you think the author chose to characterize him like that?
ReplyDeleteprobably because he was kind of distant from val since the beginging, and that scene basically just told why! it showed us what he would rather have than what he did have & the answer to that is briley. He wanted to start over new with someone else. So basically the author did that to show what he was up to when everyone else in the book was dealing with Val and what happened.
